Dr. Shankland has been providing general dental services in Central Ohio for many years. Although Dr. Shankland is an expert in the field of TMJ and facial pain disorders, his office and highly trained staff provide all general dentistry services, including cleanings, x-rays, periodontal care, fillings, crowns, implants, bridges, and dentures.
Dental implants are posts that are placed in your bone that provide a firm foundation for replacement teeth. Dental implants look very natural and function like your natural teeth. Dr. Shankland is highly trained in the placement of several different kinds of implants.
Ceramic or zirconia implants are hypoallergenic, which make them a wonderful alternative for people with allergies to metals. Ceramic implants are more natural looking around the gum line, since natural teeth are white and not metal-colored. Ask Dr. Shankland if ceramic implants would be a good choice for you, when considering dental implants.
Invisible orthodontic therapy uses a series of clear aligners that move your teeth little by little. No metal braces are needed and the aligners are almost invisible.
Many people avoid the dentist because of anxiety about their treatment. We offer sedation dentistry to help patients relax during dental procedures. Dr. Shankland will be glad to discuss the options available to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
Do you or someone in your family snore? Do you wake up suddenly in a panic, feeling as if you can't catch your breath? The diagnosis may be sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can lead to other disease processes in your body and should be treated. Dr. Shankland can evaluate your breathing problems and make recommendations for the best treatment options.
